Late Season Plums

When Ann and I traveled to Maine toward the end of September we brought most of our food.   Even though it was late in the plum season I picked out a few pieces of the fruit at the store primarily to paint, then of course to eat.  I was intrigued by the values I found on the plums, including the dull, light violet/red haze that is a quality of the skin.

This painting is a 7x5" oil on panel, painting in Orr's Island, Maine.  It's available for $150 unframed and $225 framed.
